Event summary
Join the South Side Community Federal Credit Union ("SSCFCU") family of friends and supporters at its annual benefit fundraiser and Community Reinvestment Awards ("CRA") recognition ceremony. Look out for a surprise celebrity guest appearance. Proceeds from this event will support free financial literacy, micro-lending and youth development programs.
SSCFCU's 9th Anniversary
In 9 years SSCFCU, a not-for-profit community development credit union, has successfully: • Invested over $3.6 million in low interest rate loans on Chicago’s south side, including small businesses • Provided financial literacy education to over 2,500 low-income individuals • Provided one-on-one financial/credit and housing counseling to over 1,700 community residents. • Opened over 4,000 member accounts • Helped close to 100 families avoid foreclosure through its HUD certified Housing Counseling program • Assisted 89 people re-enter the main economy through its 2nd Chance Checking account program
